On 29th January 4 CRN-ers entered a team in the Greenbow Half-ish Marathon. Taking place around the Green Circle in Exeter, it was a case of self navigating the nearly 14 miles around the 5 mapped walks around the city. Click here for more information about the walks. The morning began early, starting from The Twisted Oak at Ide. Tracey, Tracy, Karen and Sarah prepared themselves with wet weather gear and trail shoes for this multi terrain ‘experience’. The route was marked out by small round stickers on lamp posts and road signs and weren’t always easy to follow. They were given a set of 5 maps, though so all was not lost if the signs were hard to spot! It was hilly and the terrain ranged from roads, pavements, trails, fields, muddy paths and … more muddy paths! With a great atmosphere between all the teams our girls stuck together and really enjoyed themselves.
The good news is that Greenbow is advertising this event – in the reverse direction for one Saturday afternoon during the summer of 2018, with a bar-b-que afterwards for runners and spectators, so watch out for that one on Facebook or their website page.
Well done ladies, and thanks for sharing your pictures!
